Hello!
I needed some sturdy yet cute potholders, so I stitched up this lovely vintagy looking quartet.
Materials
Cotton Yarn (cream, denim, brown, red, and chartreuse green)
“G” hook
Make It
With cream yarn: Chain 6 and slip stitch into the chain farthest from your hook to form a ring.
Round 1: Chain 3, then work 11 dc into center of ring, join with a sl st to join round. Fasten and weave in ends.
Round 2 (worked in denim, brown, green, or red ) Ch 3, then work a dc in the same space, *2 dc into the next space, repeat from * to end of round. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Round 3 (worked in cream): Ch 3, then work a (dc, ch 1) into the first space, then *1 dc into next space, ch 1, then repeat from * to end of round.
Round 4 (worked in cream): Ch 3, work a dc in the same space, then work *2 dc into the next space, then repeat from * to end of round. Fasten off round and weave in end .
Make another in one solid color. Place together and use edging to join. Note: you don’t have to make two I just like the extra padding that two together gives.
Edging:
Note: Round one is worked into the spaces, round two is worked into the stitches, round three into the spaces.
Round 1 (worked in cream) : Tie on the color that you worked Round Two in) and in each space, work a sc in each space around the entire circle. Join with a slip stitch and fasten off.
Round 2 : Note: This round is worked into the stitches (vs. the spaces like previous rounds) Ch 4, skip the next 2 stitches, then in the next stitch, sc and ch 4, skip 2 more stitches, and in the next stitch, sc and ch 4. Continue in this manner all around until you reach the end and join with a slip stitch.
Round 3: One of the loops (ch 4 space from the previous round), work (3 sc, ch 2, 3 sc). Repeat this step in each loop (ch 4 space) all around. Join with a sl st and fasten off.
Enjoy!
x-o,
Mona
