Mini Caramel Apple Pies

I love pie! Next to cookies, they are my favorite dessert. Make them hand held size and I’m over the baking moon!

Mini Caramel Apple Pies

 

So imagine my delight when I found this awesome mini-pie maker by Mastrad A26360 Mini Pies and Ravioli Kit, Purple

 

Mastrad Pie Maker

This baking set also includes molds for raviolis and pasta. The mini pie molds, used for this recipe are also perfect for making little empanadas or savory meat pies on the quick. I just can’t resist a baking gadget that truly helps my baking ways! Plus, these molds are alot of fun to use and makes the whole process alot quicker.

I was going for fast and easy in the kitchen, the day I made these, so for this recipe, I used boxed, ready to bake ingredients to save some time.Pleased, that this quick route served up some little pies that were super delicious!

Now for the recipe.

Mini Caramel Apple Pies 

Ingredients

1 box of pie crust

1 can of apple pie filling

Kraft caramel squares

Bake It! 

Make the pie crust by following directions on the pie crust box. Use the whole box for the recipe. When done mixing the dough. Flour up a flat surface, take out your rolling pin and get to rolling out the dough.

Next, take out your Mastrad mini pie molds and cut out the circle base on half of the rolled out dough. ( this recipe makes 6 mini pies) .

Fill each pie dough circle base with a tablespoon of pie filling. Cover with rest of uncut dough, and stamp pie top with mold to crimp edges and seal.  Place on slightly greased baking sheet. Please note, that the pie in upper left hand corner was made without the Mastrad pie molds. I wanted to show the difference the pie mold makes in creating uniform and smooth pies. Also, please excuse my very worn but clean baking sheet, I ran out of parchment paper to hide the baked on spills.

Place in a pre-heated oven at 425 degrees for 25-30 minutes.

Take out and cool.

While the pies cool, unwrap some of the Kraft caramel squares and place into a microwaveable safe bowl, add a little water and melt in microwave. Stirring occasionally and adding little bits of water if needed for a smooth consistency.

Kraft Caramels

When melted, drizzle the pies with the caramel.
