Hello. I was tempted to not even post a 20 Pound Project update today because I woke up feeling fat and generally blah about my weightloss try and left breathless among those blasted sugar cravings. Yet, I recalled, I had promised myself and declared it to all who read my blog , I would do a weekly 20 Pound Project update, so here goes, this week’s update.
- Gained a pound. Blech!
- Ran 2 miles. Using a 5k training app helps. That and a new running playlist I put together on Spotify. To see a short snippet of one of my runs, check out the video I posted on Instagram. Grateful.
- Ran 2 miles at a 17 minute pace. Ick. More like brisk walking, not running. Yet, I call it running to make myself feel a teeny tiny bit better about my slug crawl. Such a long road ahead of me. Humbled, but still, determined.
- Stuck to my calorie per day allowance. Sort of easy with my Fitness Pal app. Whew!
- No dessert or sweet snacks. Major win! Cleaning out the pantry and fridge of baking ingredients really helped. No sugar, no yeast, no white flour means no baking. Works for me. Relieved.
My goals for next week are to 1.work out 3 days a week increasing my cardio to 45 minutes total each day 2. pick up my running pace to a 16 min mile and 3. drink more water, half my weight in ounces would be very good and 4. try not to angst over eating one of the Holiday Tamales I’m ordering for the family celebrations. Progress not perfection.
In the face of the one pound gain and the clydesdale clomp pace, I refuse to throw in the towel, so I won’t. #20PoundProject continues.
